Malone College Cross Country: Run smart and have
fun
Yes, we also run, but the main thrust of this camp experience is motivating
the young runner to enjoy the sport and to learn about what is happening as
they train and become team runners. We have classroom sessions taught by experts
and highly successful coaches. We also have mini-sessions on motivation and
training progression taught by upper level athletes, some of them being all-Americans
and National Champions.
Topics covered by our staff include: training techniques, video form analysis,
physiology of training (what happens to your body because of certain workouts),
nutrition, special needs for female athletes, goal setting, understanding
periodization, injury prevention, strength development for runners, how to
become a team leader and many more important concepts.
Your personal school coach will determine the amount of miles you run while
at camp. We DO NOT push you to run faster or farther. We want you to follow
your coaches plan for mileage- we will make evaluation and suggestions.
We have different costs for groups, but you must send applications in together
to get group rates.
