15 Years of the Coaches' Forum
15 Years of The Coaches' Forum The most popular feature of the Cross Country Journal is the Coaches' Forum. It has now been compiled in one book: from its beginning in 1984 through 1998. Each year a new panel of ten to twelve experienced high school and college coaches respond to down-to-earth questions and concerns that nearly all Cross Country coaches face at some point in their careers. Over the years, the coaches on the panel have had an average of more than 15 years of experience coaching Cross Country and over two state or national championships a piece. The wide range of topics addressed are arranged categorically and include responses to over 100 questions such as: "Is even pacing the best strategy?" "What changes have you made in the past few years that have improved your coaching?" "What steps do you take to prevent early season injuries?" Consider this book your personal workshop by experienced, successful coaches. |
