"A Revolutionary Approach to Coaching Cross Country"
Take the Lead Grinnell College's Will Freeman, top photo, is one of our country's most successful Division III coaches — in Cross Country as well as Track and Field. The same can be said of Scott Simmons — in the NAIA at two different colleges. Both have USATF coaching certification at Levels I, II, and III. Recently, after they found themselves presenting at the same coaching clinics, they put their heads together and discovered they have similar coaching philosophies and practices. Now they have written a book on the subject. One of their more revolutionary ideas is the debunking of the Pyramid model for a training design, replacing it with a concept that is well worth serious consideration. 124 pages. |
