With the State Meet just days away, the highly-rated Indian Bluff girls' cross-country team faces disaster. Team captain and top runner, Lea Pahoa, and her family are trapped in Hawaii by a volcano; and sophomore sensation Jane Hardy is sidelined when kidnappers seize her mother and sister.

Follow the gripping action as searchers try to reach the Pahoas and hopefully send them on their way home and the local police prepare to storm the hideout where Beth and her Mom are being held captive. Lives and a state championship hang in the balance.
